I know people post about recreating D.Ramierez style sounds on here quite often, I found this the other day and thought i'd stick it up here in case anyone wanted a look.

The guy who did it has done recreations of loads of artists using live and put the live sets up on his website so you can download them and take a look (most of them will open fine in only the demo of live suite).

Its quite interesting to see how the guys gotten the sounds since mostly they just use live and live-instruments.

Impressive is the way he can recreate the tracks from this artists( for me his recreation of Ghosts and Stuff is his best), the fact that he does it with operator is not that impressive. Operator is an excelent synth that combines FM and Subtractive synthesis and has all the features that most synths have. The diference its his interface cause the specs are the same. Its just a matter of knowing really well the synth u use, and u will be able to get most sounds from it :D

I've heard about that guy doing the Prodigy - pretty cool! It just goes to show how many successful bands have relied on samples to create their unique sound.
Being creative with sampling is definitely the most inspiring thing you can do with your music as you get things happening that you could never ever program or create.

Funny watching somebody re-create something that you did - He gets the sound almost spot on!
Exactly the reason why i don't make that kind of music anymore though! When everybody figures out how you do something and starts copying it's time to move on and do something fresh.
Always try and put your own spin on something, even if it is heavily inspired by something else (tip of the day)

in samplemagic's 'the secrets of house music' under the synth section there's a walkthrough entitled 'd.ramirez portamento slides and tuning' where they describe how to get this kind of sound. it's a 2010 publication so i guess you haven't managed to shake the association yet (but at least they still credit you) :)
the sound i was most impressed with in a d.ramirez production is the hook in the chant mix of 'the road of excess' .. that sound (and the entire track) is epic!
