Hi All , as the title says ... I'm trying to find a good sound engineer that specialises in the dance music side . Does anyone know who D ramirez uses for his mastering ?? Or maybe the man himself could say?? Just that I've now spent £240 on working with a sound engineer on my track and my end result isnt where I want it to be !!:(

In these times a lot of people do it themselves, constantly learning and trying new techniques. It will take time and patience but the rewards are
worth it. At least get yourself in a position where you can get a good clean mixdown done, mastering is a whole new ball game.

If you really want to pay someone then I would do some google searches
or myspace searches. I'm sure there's loads of companies/people who are
willing to take on such projects.

£240 isn't that much but you should still never pay until you are happy with the end result, if the engineer can't get that for you he shouldn't be selling his skills just yet.

Yeah, some professional insight would be nice here. From what I have heard there are some EDM labels which take care of the mastering if they have decided to actually release a track. Of course, you'll still have to make sure you have done a decent leveling. Also for demo tapes it's supposedly alright to have them well-leveled but not completely mastered. But I am not sure if this is the case with all labels.

all labels worth their salt will send a track to master before even a digital release... they won't expect a fully mastered demo, but they will expect a phat one ;)
